Food, has always been a staple in many events and holiday traditions for all cultures. It's always nice to have the traditional dishes, but adding a new element to your dinner table will always be a hit. Who knows? You may even have a new family food tradition!
Here are a few easy, and delicious new recipes that I've tried and loved too much to not share! Comment with your own favorites for everyone to try!
This delicious biscuits are perfect for any occasion! Serve them with honey butter, or serve them with a cinnamon sugar, butter mix (just blend all three together to taste). Have them with dinner, or as a desert!
Total Pre/Bake Time: 35 mins.
2 1/4 cup white whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp. maple sugar or light brown sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
I tsp. kosher salt
1/2 cup (one stick) unsalted butter (cubed)
1 cup canned pumpkin puree (your favorite brand)
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
flaked sea salt (optional)
honey butter (optional)
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk together flour, maple sugar, baking powder, and salt. Sprinkle cubed butter throughout. Cut in butter until mixture is course and small, with a few pea-sized pieces.
Mix pumpkin and buttermilk in a separate bowl, then slowly add it to the first mixture in step 1. Stir until a soft dough forms. Place onto a floured surface, make into a 1-inch thick round. Using a 2-inch round cutter, stamp out the biscuits, and repeat with scraps. Arrange on a non-greased baking sheet, brush with melted butter and/or sea salt flakes (optional).
Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on center oven rack. Serve warm or room temperature with honey butter or anything else you'd like!
